The Problem

The My Home Ankura–RR7 Junction has become increasingly busy due to rapid residential development, hospital traffic, school transport and growing commuter movement. Multiple accidents and near-miss incidents involving residents of My Home Ankura and the nearby Tridasa community were reported over the last year. The junction has blind spots and limited visibility, and without a signal-controlled right of way vehicles are forced to merge or cross through moving traffic. Pedestrians, senior citizens, children and two-wheeler riders are especially vulnerable.

Our Action

Service for Society collected accident observations and resident feedback along RR7 and prepared a formal representation to the Traffic Police Department seeking urgent traffic-management intervention at the junction.

Representation

Submitted on 29 August 2026 to the Circle Inspector (Traffic), Traffic Police Department, Hyderabad, requesting an immediate traffic, visibility and accident-risk assessment; installation of a traffic signal; marked pedestrian crossings, stop lines, warning signs, reflective road markings and street lighting; and an assessment of speed-calming measures and temporary traffic-police deployment until the signal becomes operational.

Follow-up

S4S and local residents have offered to support the Traffic Police with community feedback, accident observations, photographs, peak-hour traffic information and coordination for a site assessment.
