A request to the Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA, for 2,000 eco-friendly clay Ganesha idols to be distributed among families in Tellapur for Vinayaka Chavithi.

The Problem

Plaster-of-Paris idols used during Vinayaka Chavithi pollute local water bodies. Tellapur is home to approximately 20,000 families, and encouraging eco-friendly clay idols at scale needs institutional support.

Our Action

Service 4 Society prepared a request to HMDA for 2,000 clay Ganesha idols for free distribution among Tellapur families, alongside awareness about protecting the environment while celebrating the festival.

Follow-up

S4S volunteers will handle distribution to residents and awareness on eco-friendly celebration.
